Mission du Plein Evangile (MPE/FGM) is a Mission Dei oriented community. This is why, to this day, it works in collaboration with several foreign missionary agencies such as Liebe In Action, La Mission Américaine des AD, and others. If today we can speak of a Missions Department, we can say that at the outset, the MEP did not intentionally include the terminology “MISSIONS” in its work, even though it was the result of missionary work. MPE was committed to the work of Evangelism and Church Planting.

The first missionary work began when the coastal pastor, Pa Ofiong Udo, was sent back to Nigeria. But before him, E. Williams, a Bible school teacher had been sent there. They were sent to Nigeria as missionaries. The only difference was that Pa Ofiong was supported directly by MPEC and E. Williams by United Missions Friends. Williams by United Missions Friends, who supported MPEC as well as the work in Nigeria.
From then on, Rev Manga and his team made several trips to Nigeria to plant churches. But, until then, the terminology of “missions” had not really been incorporated into the work. The white missionaries somehow qualified this work as indigenous. They planted churches from Cross River to Benue State in Nigeria. These missions were entirely funded by MPEC.
In the French-speaking part of the world, the same work was done by Papa Mahop with his Mineva group, as well as several Mission leaders in Chad, CAR and Congo. This is how missionary work really came into its own, without being called “Missions”.

The term “Missions” was coined when Pastor Niba returned from Nigeria after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Missions and Intercultural Communication. Pastor of a local church in Muyuka with Papa Manga as Regional Supervisor. These men will put to good use the teachings Ps Niba received in Nigeria. A team made up of Ps Niba, Eld Gabriel and himself, mapped the South-West region of Cameroon for the first time and invaded Ngutti in 1996. They called this mission “Mission Ngutti”. That’s how the word “Mission” was introduced into the work. It was a short-term, well-organized Mission, funded by the assemblies of the Southwest region. The missionaries were pastors and churchgoers who were given training in evangelism, prayer and follow-up techniques. They planted several assemblies and built worship facilities in local materials. They built during the day and in the evening, they organized campaigns and church plants. Since then, the concept of “missions” has been incorporated into MPEC’s work.
