Men Ministry.

HISTORY

The Men’s Ministry Full Gospel Mission (MINHOPE) in Cameroon was officially created at the National Council meeting in 2012. The Full Gospel Mission (FGM) thus recognizes the place of men in the Church and the role they play in advancing the spiritual life of the Family, the Church and the Community. As a ministry under the FGM, men will submit to the authority of the Holy Scriptures and to the direction of the Mission at all levels.

VISION

MINHOPE’s vision is to train up our members to be like Issachar’s men (1 Chronicles 12:32). Men who understand the times and know what they need to do in their lives, at home, at church and in their communities; They choose not to be absent men, but to go ahead and do what they need to do. Men put their skills and resources at the service of the practical work of the Kingdom by initiating projects, being role models for our young people and becoming responsible fathers.

MINHOPE exists to enable men who are far from God to get to know Him, and also to go out and make Him known. In this ministry, men are led to follow God and become followers of Christ. Men are encouraged and equipped to love Jesus. Men are challenged to adopt a purposeful Christianity that helps them draw closer to Jesus and be more like Him.

As men of Issachar, the ministry must rally and release men to go out on mission like the smart men of David, and prepare them to meet up with kingdom challenges.

God calls FGM men to be connected to Him, to His word, to the Holy Spirit, to their families and to each other. Men are expected to connect generations, to set an example for young men in leadership, ministry and fatherhood. Men are expected to take the lead in kingdom projects, stand up for God’s cause, and demonstrate their loyalty to God and to the Mission.

MEMBERSHIPS

MINHOPE membership is open to all male members of the Full Gospel Mission aged 25 and over, for singles (young seniors) for mentoring. They will not be eligible for elective office.
Membership is open to all married men without age discrimination.

ANNUAL ACTIVITIES

MINHOPE’s annual activities are announced each year through the men’s handbook, produced by the national men’s office.

The flagship activities are as follows:

  • The annual capacity-building retreat for men’s leaders

At the beginning of each year, the men of MPE hold an annual rally comprising leaders from all regional and other offices. This rally rotates from region to region. In addition to the regional executives, the Regional Pastor of the host area mobilizes all the pastors in his region to take part in this event. The offices of the district and local churches in the host region must also be present. The year’s vision and calendar of activities are unveiled at the rally. Regional reports are given and performances evaluated. Mission Council announcements are also shared. This rally is scheduled between January (preferably) and February (at the latest).

  • Men’s Week

The men’s week is organized every year in all regions. The most likely dates are between the first week of August and the end of September. Activities will take place from Monday to Sunday. The first Sunday in August will be Men’s Day. Offerings collected during this week are sent to the national office.

  • Theme of the year

Each year’s theme is established by the national office and presented to the mission superintendent for adoption. Care is taken to ensure that it does not conflict with the national mission theme. Articles are published in the men’s handbook to further clarify the vision’s understanding.
